Bonner + Stayner

Made in Opa-locka is a project by Jennifer Bonner (Atlanta) and Christian Stayner (Los Angeles and Phoenix). Their work focuses on the performance of architecture in the civic domain and the possibilities of transforming how architects work in the public sphere. Bonner and Stayner are also Assistant Professors of Architecture at Georgia Tech and Arizona State University.

Jennifer Bonner

Jennifer is the Director of Studio Bonner in Atlanta, Georgia. An alumnus of the Rural Studio, she has several years of experience working in distressed communities in rural west Alabama. She received a Bachelor of Architecture from Auburn University and a Master of Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design.

Christian Stayner

Christian is a founding partner of Stayner Architects, a Los Angeles-based design practice that provides comprehensive architectural services across a broad range of scales and programs. He received his Masters in Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and his B.A. in Architecture and Human Rights Theory from Harvard College and the experimental liberal arts institution, Deep Springs College.

Germane Barnes

Germane is the Project Manager for Made in Opa-locka, living and working in Magnolia North. He is also adjunct faculty at the University of Miami School of Architecture.
